Happy Fourth of July From A Janitorial Services Company

It is said that on this day, July 4th 1776, England’s King George III wrote in his diary: “Nothing of importance happened today.”

Little did he know, that on that very day, thousands of miles away, after sprawling his elegant signature across the Declaration of Independence, John Hancock remarked: “There, I guess King George will be able to read that!”

Happy Fourth of July from Stathakis, your janitorial services company! Today we come together as a nation to celebrate our freedom and independence. It is a special privilege that Americans have worked so hard to uphold for 236 years! Many have fought, died, and/or sacrificed their entire lives to ensure that our freedom endures. Even by simply signing the Declaration of Independence, all of our founding fathers were marked as traitors to the British Empire and faced the death penalty. Let’s not take their efforts, nor the efforts of countless others, for granted.

Shortly after the Declaration was signed, one of our founding fathers, John Adams, wrote to his wife, Abigail, that each year the anniversary “ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports…and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.” So, in the interest of upholding this fine tradition and our founding fathers wishes: make sure you get out to celebrate in a safe, fun, and patriotic fashion!

Patriotism is an easy thing to understand here in America. We support our own country because, at the end of the day, we all truly believe in the ideals it represents: “Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” On the Forth of July we’re celebrating that our country doesn’t belong to another Empire, Monarchy, or even our politicians, it belongs to us; the United States of America belongs to her citizens.

So no matter how you’re celebrating today, remember that this day is for all of us. It is a day of leisure, family, and freedom. Think back on all the fireworks, barbeque, picnics, 4th’s on the lake, or baseball games that you may have attended on this great day. Smile and cherish those memories, and know that there will be many more to come as America’s freedom continues to endure. And know that this janitorial services company wants to remind you to have a safe and happy Fourth of July and remember to clean up your fireworks!

If you have any Fourth of July memories, or stories that just make you proud to be American, please feel free to share them by commenting here on our blog—we’d love to hear them!
